No, not that whole living room (I wish!). My wannabe Eames chair, purchased on the cheap at
HauteLook. Thanks again for the heads up, Camila! Not sure where it's home will be, yet. I bought
the chair with intentions of it finding a place in the living room, but the bright white chair doesn't
exactly flow with the "I'm-not-a-bright-crisp-white-yet-because-the-former-owners-painted-me-
this-awful-beige-color-and-Michelle-hasn't-repainted-me-yet" trim.
Did I just speak from the perspective of my living room trim? Okay, just checking.
So, my lovely new chair is looking for a home. So far, it's tried...
by the windows in our bedroom...
But, my sweet little rocker made its way back to the living room. I think it will hang out there, living a somewhat mismatched life until I get my butt in gear and paint the trim white. Then it will fit right in!
As for the Eames chair, I think people either love it or hate it. I (obviously) love love the classic modern look. My sister (on the other hand) asked me if it was a sled. I think she's on the "hate it" side.
What about you? Are you an Eames chair fan?
Your sister cracked me up:) I love it and I think it looks best in your livingroom too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting♥

I've never heard of a Eames chair before. Does that mean I live under a rock? I think it looks cool though. =]
ReplyDeleteThat chair is fabulous! Such versatility!! I've seen it in babies rooms before and it's so cute.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday Darling! xo
Oh, and be sure to stop by my blog for my swimsuit GIVEAWAY!!
It's an iconic chair that I LURVE!!!! I wish I had a spot for it. Would love to put one in our bonus room/family room/playroom {how's that for identity crisis} but not sure if hubs will be on board! He might side with your sister. :( I think it looks good in every photo you showed. That should tell you something.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much guys! I love the little guy. Too cute. And yes, I've mostly seen it in nurseries as well... maybe one day when we have a kids room, that's where it will go! :)
ReplyDeletei LOVE it and i think it is perfect in that spot- it plays off the moorish tile rug well. i have the knockoff eames chairs with the wood eiffel base in my dining room and i love them!!! i found mone at overstock and they have the rocker, too. they have it in a baby blue, too- i was so tempted to order it but i wanted it for a baby's room. but frankly, i don't want any more babies- just a baby's room because they are fun to decorate!
ReplyDeleteand you might be able to sled in your chair too and then it owuld be dually purposed and even more worth the money!
looks great pretty much anywhere you place it! thats how awesome it is!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little guy! I like him in your living room...and really like the first picture with the chair in front of the fireplace! Wherever he lands will be perfect!

ReplyDeleteI love it! I have never really seen anything like it before. I like it in the last picture...it looks great! Does it rock? It looks like it rocks back and forth? So cool if it does!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I loved it in every space that you had it. What a great find!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I am a fan. My dad worked for Herman Miller WAYYYY back when they made residential furniture. You should see the furniture my parents have, exquisite mid century furniture. When my sister and I were born, they gave us these exact rockers with the ability to change from a rocker to a chair with legs. On the back of the chairs, there is a brass plate inscribed with my name and birthdate from the Herman Miller family. Funny thing though, my mother still won't let me have my chair that the Herman Miller Co gave me when I was born!
