I feel like this year is going to be that year where I actually follow through with all of the goals that I set. I've found through the blogging process that if I advertise a goal or set a deadline for something on my "to do" list by sharing it with all of you, I feel more accountable and actually end up completing the task at hand.
My aspirations for this year certainly vary- some of my goals deal with important aspects of my life, like relationships, some of my goals are home related and some of them are simply less important, silly things.

Without further ado, here are my goals for 2011:
1. (constantly and consistently) update my iPod
my favorites: Dispatch, T.I., Black Eyed Peas, Tim McGraw, Maroon 5, Allman Brothers, Jay Z
[I know, I've got some scattered taste in the music department!]

2. send each of my friends/family a birthday card that arrives at their home on their actual birthdate

3. complete our bathroom renovation by March 1st
[ahh! hope I can live up to that one!]
4. update our landscaping this spring (in the front and back yards), including planting a vegetable garden
[we got some 'maters out last year, but this year I'm thinking: zucchini, squash, peppers... yum!]

6. go to the beach with our dogs

8. join a Sunday School class at church
9. incorporate more eclectic, sophisticated pieces into our home decor

10. paint the outside of our house
[no new colors- just a fresh update of the current white/black scheme we have now!]

11. replace all of our home's windows with more efficient ones
12. complete the Love Dare with my hubby
[Have you seen this book? It was introduced to us at church, as a challenge for all married couples to try. It's just a little reminder about how to shower your spouse with love and respect. We are really excited about it!]

What about all of you? What are some of your top goals for 2011?

Great goals - I gave up on #2 years ago - I determined I have a mental block against birthdays and people would just have to love me for that "one" fault :)
ReplyDeleteThose are some great goals! I'm hoping that making my list on my blog will help keep me working on them, too. We shall see....
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals..I really enjoyed your blog!
ReplyDeleteI love your goals. Especially your 10K! :)
ReplyDeleteI am slotted to run a half marathon in March… let’s hope I can keep that goal. It hurts my legs just thinking about it!
Great goals!
ReplyDeleteI love the variety of goals on your list! I am anxious to read about these as you go along. The Love Dare is amazing. We did it, and it will impact your marriage for sure.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Denise
So great! I need to post mine in hopes of keeping me accountable! I am anxious to check out Love Dare. I am so envious that you have a basement. Excited to see your projects unfold. I'll be watching :)
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! I find I am better when I have accountability as well as when I have an event deadline that can't be budged. Our major goal for 2011 is the outside also, fence, garden, paint and overall update. I wish we could get new windows this year, I'm sure your going to love them.
ReplyDeletegreat goals, michelle! totally doable! i ran my first 10k in november and i felt great. and i am NOT a runner. so if i did it, you can! too bad we didn't live closer- i would do it wiht you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list! I am equally as scattered in my playlist as well. Don't you just love the Black Eyed Peas?! I created a Pandora station just from the Boom Boom Pow song! :)
ReplyDeleteI started on the Love Dare last year and only did about 6 days. I need to do that again too...but without the hubby knowing.
And....your house is beautiful! I love the charm of a 1950's ranch.
BTW - I found you through Nester...please come by and say hi :)
Great goals! Can't wait till it's warm enough to start putting out those veggie gardens! Nothing like a fresh mater sami in the summer! :)

Great goals! And great idea to set them!!! I love those workbooks you can do with your hubby...we all need reminders every now and then! But where on your list is 'choosing the proper mate for the new bachelor'?
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for your hubs and that tray!!! awesome job!
We have really been wanting to join a Sunday school class, too! To grow as a couple with other couples who are going through the same things that we are!
ReplyDeleteI like your goals! Very realistic! I can't wait to see the new bathroom!!
You've got yourself a new reader! You definitely need to do the Love Dare. I bought the book, but I haven't done it yet. That's one of my goals to do. My husband and I watched Fireproof the other night again. I make the connection a LOT with it since my husband is a firefighter, too. Good luck on your goals!
ReplyDeleteLove Dare. Forgot about that book/movie. That would be fun to do!
ReplyDeleteThese are great goals, doable and fun! Looking forward to seeing the new bathroom. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteFun fun fun! I love the birthday card one. That reminds me to get a card in the mail today! And how fun about the last one...I bet it's a great thing for couples to do! I'm excited to see your renovations coming this year (: OH, and, my dog LOVES the beach. Pure bliss!
ReplyDeleteGood luck - it's going to be a busy and great year for you!
ReplyDeleteJust stumbled on your blog today, and enjoyed reading many of your posts! You've inspired me with a few ideas for our home today!
ReplyDeleteYou have a fun list Michelle. I would love to be better about birthdays and just being thoughtful in general. Need to look into that couples book.

I like this post- so fun to see all your goals with the pictures! I want to open a professional organizing business this year . . .
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy reading other people's goals. Maybe it's because I didn't set any this year! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I'm off to check out that book.
