I've been helping my little sister scheme up some ideas for her new apartment at college. This was one of my favorite designs that we thought up! She's not allowed to paint the walls and big art isn't exactly in the budget... so my thoughts were to create these chevron panels for behind her bed.
I found inspiration here with these panels.
All it takes is some plywood and some paint (and maybe some mad taping skills!) and you've got high impact, inexpensive art! Can't beat that, especially in a college apartment bedroom.
My sweet little sister is a little on the indecisive side, so who knows if she'll go with this design...
but we sure had fun creating it!
Have you thought of any high impact, inexpensive DIYs lately?
That's the rug I have in my living room, and I get tons of compliments on it. For $30 buckaroos, it's by far one of the best pieces I've found.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a cute design board. I love the color combo.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that design. I've been dying to do a Coral room... don't have the opportunity in our home right now though! :)
ReplyDeleteI just posted about some DIY artwork that I finished for our master bedroom recently, the other day. It's so personal and perfect for our own space!
Hoop art is so simple, so cheap, and easy to change out. Love the coral and turquoise design.
ReplyDeleteI love the rug, too. And the chevron idea is pretty awesome. I wanna try something like it in my house.
ReplyDeleteLove that idea! Love the color scheme too.
ReplyDeleteGirl, I love this. Great work!

ReplyDeleteMichelle, this is such a cute design. I love the colors--it is perfectly spunky and grown-up enough for a college girl. I especially love the bedding!

That's very similar to what we did in ours...no paint, so went bold with colored paintings and graphics on the wall. Oh- and awesome curtains, too! I think the curtains were the biggest impact. LOVE your design. Helloooo...these colors rock together!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this color combo!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of painting a panel and using it as a focal point. How great for those who can't paint a wall (or who are indecisive like me :-P)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Love the color scheme too! Anything with turquoise is a winner in my book. ;)

So pretty!!! I love coral and turquoise especially together!!! I have plans to use them for my powder room!
ReplyDeleteRugs can be made from cutting old t-shirts into strips and tying them onto plastic matting. The shirt can be dyed one color or let the color they are.
ReplyDeleteYour apartment really looks very hip and cool.
