While we've certainly got some beautiful architecture down here in the south, I was absolutely amazed at the beautiful homes I saw when I was up in the northeast last week. From Connecticut to Rhode Island, the quaint little seaside cottages (and grandeur cliffside mansions!) wowed me.
*even though I had to snap the pic through a wire fence and there's a car in front of it, the mint green painted trim on this beauty stole my heart!
*duh ; )
*my personal favorite of the day was this dream!
(another in-between-a-gate shot, hence the bad angle)
And while any good girlfriend knows that sharing pictures from a bachelorette party is not allowed (what happens in Newport Beach, stays in Newport Beach... or something like that), here's one shot of me with the bachelorette, Courtney.

I've convinced David that we need a trip up to the northeast sometime soon to see more of the beauty that's up there! What are your favorite New England towns?
castine, me is my FAVORITE new england town. It has a ton of history, great food, gorgeous inns, and a college all packed into a teensie town. It's pretty far down east but well worth the trip, in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteI love love love Newport! I lived there for two years growing up and my mom and brother both went to college there...that town has always been a family favorite :).
ReplyDeletei love all of new england- i grew up in massachusetts. i love the amherst/south hadley/northampton area.... beautiful, quaint... i miss it now!
ReplyDeleteMakes me miss my hometown...Long Island is the best!
ReplyDeleteI love that you just posted this because I have a very similar post coming up this week! We just got back from a road trip through the northeast and I posted about our must-see places here: http://imperfectlypolished.com/2011/08/02/east-coast-road-trippin/
ReplyDeleteI would highly recommend it:)
NEWPORT! Awww... This seriously makes me miss home. That's the one thing I loved about growing up in Massachusetts. All of the architecture and oldness.
ReplyDeleteDid you make it to Plymouth MA?
I love Bennington, Vermont & Stockbridge, MA ...oh, and all of Cape Cod (and the Islands) though if you go in the fall I don't think you can go wrong with getting that taste of true New England. Stockbridge is just like something out of a movie!!! Oh, and if you travel a bit west...Saratoga, NY is a fun visit also. Love your photos and home tour!
ReplyDeleteWow. Seriously beautiful homes. Absolutely gorgeous. I think I will take the one on the island---then of course I need that boat too! ; )
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!!! And you all look great...I think I've heard that saying about Newport Beach before...only in Southern CA! :)
ReplyDeleteWow these homes are stunning. The pictures are so good, Mich! The white houses are my favorite. I love your dress, too (:
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had fun up here! Cape Cod is filled with beautiful old seaside homes that I ogle whenever we are there. I love driving along the coast of Newport and looking at those spectacular mansions on the cliffs! Lots of historic beauties. Great pic of you with your girlfriends!
ReplyDeleteYeah, cool houses and all but the important question is, Where did Courtney get that darling dress?! I have to know.
ReplyDeletelove the exposure of these pics! so neat how different parts of the country have different architectural styles!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh love your new house ;)
ReplyDeleteNothing beats the character of older homes. I'm from PA but have visited New England a few times. Loved Boston a lot and was also in Providence for a little while but it rained the whole time so didn't get a full taste of it.
ReplyDeleteI find it amazing how different the architecture can be depending upon where you are. It certainly makes for exciting vacations!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful houses! Love your dress too!
ReplyDeleteFor sure Newport, RI from my childhood summers. Is "your house" Castle Hill by any chance? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am a New England girl, born and raised in a small beach town of Darien, Connecticut. Our town has some fabulous homes but for vacation spots, my personal fav's hands down are Chatham, MA on Cape Cod and Newport, RI. Loved seeing your photos!
ReplyDeletei'm from CT and lived in newport for a year - so i'm pretty much LOVING these pics!!
