Friends, I wasn't quite sure how it was going to go, (ie. would I make it across the finish line!) but you'll be happy to know that I'm back and still alive after my 5K race in Atlanta this weekend. I ran with David (who, by the way is a BIG runner- do any of you have any fun running blogs out there? I know he'd love to read!) and one of my closest friends, Katelyn. We all kicked butt!
Not only did my Saturday start wonderfully with the race, but it ended wonderfully with a win for Georgia! After the game, my sister and I walked around my town, which was hosting a local arts festival. The weather was insanely gorgeous.
So we know I love football... but did I mention I love football watching food too? I do. A lot!
All day Sunday was spent working on some fun projects around the house.
More on that hopefully later this week!
I also spent some time outdoors playing around in the beautiful weather with my new camera. I'm learning a lot so far and have a lot of you and your fabulous advice to thank for that! : )
For now, I'm trying to focus on lighting. I'm still having a hard time indoors, especially in parts of my house that tend to be dark. One major question I have is how to photograph a darker room with very bright windows? Every time I try, the sunshiney window bleaches out while the rest of the frame is dark. Any ideas?
How was your weekend? Did you get into anything fun?!
try taking photos at twilight and amp up your iso.
ReplyDeletegreat job finishing the 5k!
Good job on the race. I used to do 5 and 10K's all over Atlanta but I started teaching a fitness class on Saturday mornings so it has been a while since I have done them. Love your pictures....wish I had time to learn how to use my camera...I am a slacker.
ReplyDeleteLoving all of the pictures from the new camera! And, I am with ya...I love football and I love the food/drinks even more! ;)
ReplyDeletei used to run 5ks more before the baby and feel motivated to get back out there. congrats on a fun and productive weekend! i'm right there with you on the photography. i just got a camera and am trying to get acquainted. looking forward to hearing about your progress and maybe nabbing some advice for myself along the way :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a perfect weekend to me! Fall finally arrived to Charleston... at least for the weekend.. so I was outside as much as possible!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 5k! I'd like to run one again but it's been almost 2 years since my last one in college...so I'm a little nervous! Your photos are great, looking forward to seeing more! Xo, Katie
ReplyDeleteGo dawgs! Your football food looks delicious... Yum! And congrats on your race! I'm doing a 5k in October and I'm really looking forward to it! =)
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the race! Tons of respect for runners! I am a terrible runner but I do have runner friends that blog. Here's a good blog to pass along to your friend: http://rulesforrunning.wordpress.com/

You are such a rock star. The photo of you and your sister makes me miss you even more! Are you shooting in manual mode for the photos?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing! And you two look gorgeous, as usual! Glad you had a fun weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a super fun weekend!! I LOVE 5k's!! Only ran one but I'm itching to do another! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the race!! That is fantastic and looks like the perfect day for it. Love your fall foliage images.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the race! I can't believe the leaves are changing here already...so pretty. I am sooo ready for fall-2 more days!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing your race! My husband and I are considering signing up for a 5 or 10K too so that we have a goal to work towards! You asked about running blogs - on of my favorites is peanutbutterrunner.com - hope you enjoy! Go Dawgs!
ReplyDeleteYay for finishing!! You and Tori are adorable (: And I've had that problem, too...I think to fix it I just shoot on Manual and crank up the tick mark on the spectrum you see in the screen all the way to number 2. Or just put it on No Flash mode.

Congrats on your 5k! That's awesome. My favorite running blog is skinnyrunner.com. Careful, she'll make you want to run a half-marathon or something.
ReplyDeleteWhat a marathon effort (pardon the pun). You should be very proud of yourself.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get a new camera. Some of the leaf shots look so clear.
You and your sister look gorgeous!
Oh yeah, my cholesterol level must go through the roof during football season, but I LOVE it.
