Hello, hello! Welcome to the first link party of the Ten June 30 Day Photo Challenge!
After I got a new camera for my birthday, I decided it was time to work on my photography skills. And lucky for me, so many of you said that you were interested in beefing up your photog skills as well! So I issued a little challenge, in the form of thirty days of picture taking fun. Over the month of October, we'll snap one picture a day from this list (borrowed with the consent of the amazing photographer, Kristi James).
Today we're here to share days 1-7 of the challenge. Want to see my shots from the last week?
Day 1 (moi, used basic editing)
Day 2 (my sunnies, used basic editing)
Day 3 (sky view, used basic editing)
Day 4 (in my dining room, used cross-processing tool on Picnik to develop contrasts)
Day 5 (my sister in Blue Ridge, used focal zoom tool on Picnik)
Day 6 (Blue Ridge hike, used basic editing)
Day 7 (Elijay apple, used basic editing)
Unless noted, I simply cleaned up the photos with a few basic edits found on Picnik.
So, what do you think?! I had an absolute ball playing around with my camera. I felt super professional playing around with the settings on my camera. I will have to say that most of these pictures were shot in the normal, no-flash setting. I attempted to take the "something green" photos in manual... 75 dark grainy ugly pictures later, I switched back to the no-flash setting. But, honestly, this picture was my favorite to take because I worked with the camera for about an hour (while lying on my dining room floor!), really trying to capture the perfect shot. But I think Michelle needs to do a little more homework before conquering the manual setting! Oh well, practice makes perfect, right? And that's what this photo challenge is about!
Needless to say, I really enjoyed it! I might just frame a couple of these for around my house. Can't you see the adorable little apple framed in my kitchen? Love it.

More importantly, if you did have problems and sorted it out-- share your wise advice with us newbie photographers!
I'll keep the link party open until next Wednesday, when we share week two of the challenge. Don't forget to link back to Ten June in your post or in your sidebar. Happy picture taking!
