While it might seem that I get to play DIYer all day (wouldn’t that be nice?!), the truth is that I do have a full-time day job. In my line of work, I have to dress professionally and typically head out the door wearing a skirt suit or a dress and blazer. While I am by no means a fashion icon, I take pride in my appearance each day, as it helps me to feel confident in all that I do.
One of the ways that I ensure I’m looking my best each day is with makeup.
While I certainly don’t use a lot of makeup, a dash of bronzer, a coat of mascara and a dab of lip gloss
always make me feel brighter, fresher and ready to take on the day.

So when COVERGIRL contacted me to try their new COVERGIRL LashPerfection™ Mascara, I was more than happy to take part! In fact, I used the mascara on a very important morning, right before I had to present at a huge meeting for a big client. Even though it was a muggy, hot Georgia day, I knew I still had to fight the weather to look my best. Thank goodness this is a post about mascara and not hair… Georgia humidity and my hair don’t mix well!
The COVERGIRL LashPerfection Mascara went on just the way I like my makeup -- clean and glossy with no messy clumps. Who has time for clumps? Yeah, me neither! I’ve got pretty short eyelashes, so I was happy to see that the black mascara lengthened and defined them. With my outfit ready, my makeup on, my research completed and my notes in hand, I headed off to the presentation feeling happy and confident.
I was really excited to find out that the COVERGIRL LashPerfection Mascara lasted all day, even through the Georgia heat! My makeup stayed fresh and glossy, leaving me confident and bright. Let’s just say that I was a happy camper. And so was my client, since I rocked the socks off of the board! In fact, my presentation helped my client to close a big deal. It was a great day. I truly feel that confidence is the key to success, whether gathered from inspiration, faith, support from others or just feeling good in your own skin. Needless to say, I’m glad that I had COVERGIRL to help me out that day! What inspires confidence in you?

let's see.... every morning i wake up nd have dark circles from being an overtired mom. on the days i forget my under eye concealer and catch a glimpse in a mirror it is not pretty... but on the days that i remember anc catch a glimpse i feel MUCH better about myself! :) seriously. you just wait.
ReplyDeletemy wedding day! it may sound cliche, but i did my makeup myself, so knowing it would stay and look great all day was a godsend!
ReplyDeleteI love your watch! Where did you get it? What kind is it? It's big but not too big.
ReplyDeleteMy makeup habits are similar to yours - not too much, just enough to make me feel confident, fresh, and beautiful :) I had started to feel like I could see some darks circles under my eyes, though, so I recently bought a new under-eye concealer and it's AMAZING! The first day I wore the new concealer, I closed three sales at work!
ReplyDeleteI too have very simple makeup habits, but mascara is a must---and I just happen to use covergirl mascara. I can use some eye concealer too. :)
ReplyDeleteMake-up gave me the confidence to attend the USMC Ball when I wasn't exactly hitting the gym everyday. It gave me the boost to smile and be happy (plus an evening with my Marine in dress blues woohoo).
ReplyDeleteMade me feel extra pretty on my wedding day, wore a littlemoremakeup than I generally do, and you could definitely tell the difference it made!

ReplyDeleteMake-up always makes me feel better when I'm teaching. I feel more like the adult in the room.
ReplyDeleteMake-up gives me the extra boost at job interviews! I'm not much of an everyday wearer, but the extra touch is nice :)

ReplyDeleteI'm with Cassie on the undereye concealer....I can't leave home without it! A little mascara doesn't hurt either!

You are so cute! I love your dress/skirt! I am a concealer person too!!
ReplyDeleteMake-up gave me the extra boost of confidence I needed when I ran for Miss Minnesota USA in 2009! A little extra make-up gave me the look and confidence I needed walking across the stage, underneath the bright lights during the swimsuit and evening gown competition! :)
ReplyDeleteI actually just started wearing make up now that I am all grown up and started working in an office. Putting on mascara and a little blush every morning helps me feel like a real adult and having a routine.
ReplyDeleteI was the only girl in my sister's wedding they did her own makeup. Why pay when I can do it myself? Now my hair??? That's a different story! :)
ReplyDeletedefinitely on my wedding day. i'm not a huge makeup wearer, but knew that it was important for my wedding day. i got it semi-professionaly done -- at a makeup counter. it was a win-win since it was free (or cheaper than a professional, since i bought product) and i got lipstick for reapplying throughout the day and some great mascara.
ReplyDeleteYou look adorbs!! Love your outfit and such a fun giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen i had to start dressing like a "grown-up" aka being more professional, make up has definitely helped me feel the part!
ReplyDeleteFinding makeup that doesn't melt in our Georgia heat is always a bonus! You look awesome!! Very polished.
ReplyDeleteI'm always looking for a good mascara! This is totally the piece of makeup that really seals my look. The other day I forgot to wear it and felt like I had no makeup on. Mascara totally adds confidence.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting!!
Amazing giveaway! Who doesn't love a shopping spree for makeup! I love my CoverGirl mascara!
ReplyDeleteWhile I don't like to wear a full face of makeup,I never leave the house without mascara! My eyelashes are short and blonde, so it is a 'must'! Makeup gives me more confidence EVERY DAY!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! Thanks! This sounds like it may be a great replacement for the stuff I currently pay $35 a tube for!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to give this a try ~ a day of teaching and my mascara is practically non-existent! I don't wear a lot of makeup, but I always feel like I'm putting my best foot forward when I have a bit on. Like you said, if it holds up to GA humidity-- WOW!

I recently graduated from college and job interviews have been my new daily task. Although I love dressy clothes, i find that more simple plain clothes are what interviewers want and while I love my black and white combinations, makeup is my main inspiration for looking great and feeling even better. I always find that multiple layers of mascara and bright lip is my favorite go to look. You can never feel TOO pretty to take on the day. What a way to start the morning!

You are too cute. Love the dress! Mascara is one thing I won't go without.
ReplyDeleteeveryday! When you're facing 19 Kindergarteners at 7:30am a little make-up and a little confidence goes a long way!
ReplyDeleteI sooo need this. My makeup bag needs an overhaul! elyjordan@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteMy wedding day- also one of the few times I have had my makeup professionally done....so worth it!
ReplyDeleteMake-up makes me feel feminine every weekday...I work in finance--a male-dominated field! Wearing make-up prevents me from burping and swearing like the guys...just teasing!
ReplyDeleteI am a makeup hound (it gives me the confidence to face the day with my 3 little ones!), especially when it comes to mascaras!! I guess this is another drugstore one I will have to try after your glowing review. Can't wait to see what kind of magic it could work on my own lashes- right now Cover Girls Lash Blast Volume is my go-to mascara, so we'll see if they've outdone themselves!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love that dress! You look great!
ReplyDeleteI was really shy about going to prom with my crush since I was a bit tomboyish but a glamorous makeover turned me into a princess for the night and the makeup was subtle yet stunning. I felt so completely beautiful!:)

I’m not a make up person and usually don’t wear any or have very light make ups on. When I attend my husband’s company dinner, I wanted to look my best for him and I put full make up on and I sure felt great and more confidence meeting his colleges for the first time. We both had a wonderful evening at the event.

Here in Texas we melt away too! Sometimes it's not even worth putting on makeup because you step outside and it all comes off in an instant with all the humidity and heat! I would have to say I got my makeup professionally done on my wedding day and it lasted all day - AMAZING!! :) Love your dress in these pics. It's adorable.

ReplyDeleteI had my makeup professionally done for my wedding and it helped make my day brighter and, since I cried all the way down the isle, I am glad they used waterproof makeup! LOL I knew I would cry a lot during the wedding, so that was one less thing to worry about!

After returning to the country from one year in Europe, I had to look for a job. I hadn't worn make up while overseas but I decided to put on my professional face and head with confidence into those job interviews. I was lucky enough to find a temporary placement that lead to a permanent job in my field.
