Nothing quite says Christmas like a Christmas tree, right?! This year was the first year that David and I purchased a real evergreen tree. Minus the needles all over the place, I'm in love. It smells so good!
I broke out the DIY white pom pom garland from last year's tree. I think it's so funky and festive!
I continued the traditional red + silver theme from our mantel. I used mostly glass balls, but threw in a few fun little sparkly ornaments like my DIY cranberry glass ornaments, a glittery white pinecone, a couple of pretty silver acorn and a sparkly red cardinal (which is important in our house because the cardinal was our elementary school mascot! and yes, David and I went to elementary school together... more on that here!).
I retired my mom's old tree skirt and got a new tree skirt this year from HomeGoods. I was thrilled when I saw it because the red velvet and white stitching matches our Pottery Barn stockings perfectly! And the little pom poms on the tree skirt match my pom pom garland... how neat is that? ; )
The view from under the tree (ie. Tucker's view!).
I'm kind of in love with our tree this year... it makes our living room feel so glowy and festive!
Now it's time to link up your Christmas tree over at Megan's blog, Honey We're Home! I'm also sharing this post with Stephanie at Under the Table and Dreaming.
And don't forget, the party continues next week with Christmas recipes over at Natasha's blog and holiday decor over at Michaela's blog.
