Since I'm officially full term in my pregnancy, I thought it was high time for a baby Ten June update!
Ohhh yeah, now that is a baby bump! : )
I don't think you're ready for this belly. And it's even bigger now (that photo was taken last week, at 36 weeks)! Don't you just love big ol' pregnant women?! And here's the funny part- the picture below I actually emailed around to friends at the beginning of my pregnancy because I was sure you could see a small baby bump! My how times... and waistlines!... change : )
Things are going great here at the end of my pregnancy. I am super blessed to have had a great nine and a half months so far, minus the 24-7 major heartburn that I have. Whew, Tums are my BFF, that's for sure. I've mentioned it before, but I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes a few months ago. I've been managing it through my diet and really haven't had any major problems, which is great. For many reasons, my doctor doesn't usually let diabetic patients go past 39 weeks, so we will likely be having this baby in the next couple of weeks!
Last week, the doctor did an ultrasound to check in on our pea pod. Everything looked great and the little guy looked as healthy as can be! In fact, the doctor estimated that at 36 weeks, 2 days, he already weighed about 6 lbs., 7 oz. We've got a big boy on our hands! : )
At the end of the ultrasound, David and I got to see him on the 3D/4D scan... and when David rubbed my belly and said "hey, buddy" our little guy smiled a big ol' grin up on the screen! No joke! It was easily one of the most precious moments of my life.
The last few weeks have been busy with fun baby stuff. My wonderful friends and family have thrown me a few showers, which were all amazing! David and I also took a childbirth class at our hospital- even though we've read so much of the information before in pregnancy/newborn books, it was really helpful to learn about the procedures our actual hospital uses.
We've more or less completed our "baby prep" list around the house. The nursery is just about finished and I've spent lots of time washing sweet baby clothes in baby (perfume and dye free) detergent. It's amazing how much more fun laundry is when it's precious little bitty socks, right?!
Also, our hospital bag is packed and David installed the car seat in my car (and a base in his car). We truly are set and ready to go whenever little pea pod decides to make his appearance!
Of course, I'll keep you guys posted when that time comes : )
I've also been keeping up with my weekly pregnancy photo shots (which were actually featured on NBC's iVillage website recently!), so I will have to share those sometime soon.
Thank you so much to all of you for your sweet wishes, thoughts and prayers. David and I feel so lucky to have amazing friends and family supporting us and my "blogging peeps" are no exception! Our little man will be born into this world already loved by so many, so thank you!!

I think I'm going to need a few more things in the last months and have been having a really hard time finding tops and dresses that are flattering. I love that blue dress!
ReplyDeleteEeks! It's almost time! You look great, a perfect baby belly.
ReplyDeleteBetter to have ultra sound scan, which provides the health status of a baby and allows you to view the baby movements.

You look great! I am so excited for all you are about to experience when your little man makes his appearance. I've been feeling a little sentimental lately, and reminiscing on my blog about when my kids were babies. They are VERY little still, but it seems that "baby" time gone so quickly.
ReplyDeleteYou're so adorable, Michelle! And I can hardly contain my happiness for you guys! I love the story about the ultrasound and the little smile from your babe :) So sweet xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing, Michelle. And it's ridiculous how the concept of a bump changes over the course o a pregnancy. Love the story about the little guy smiling during the ultrasound. Too sweet! Enjoy these last weeks.
ReplyDeleteAhhh Michelle- you are adorable! Your little skinny arms and basketball baby belly are so cute!!!!! So excited for you!
ReplyDeleteCould you be any cuter? Can't believe it's almost time! So very excited for you guys!
